If you have a grade 8 and above in any string instrument and/or at least 2 years of experience in a string orchestra/ensemble, do join our main String Orchestra. We have an annual concert, Journey, every year, and many other small-scale performances such as lunchtime concerts. There will also be opportunities to play in chamber groups, sometimes with remuneration. Our practices are mainly on Saturdays, 9.30am-12.30pm. Sectionals are also held on weekday nights.

If you have been learning a string instrument for some time, but do not fall into the category above, do join us at the Training Orchestra. We perform regularly and will be having our first annual concert, Stringendo, in March 09. It is a rare chance for intermediate string players to experience playing together in an ensemble, and some of our players who have improved rapidly move up to the main String Orchestra where they get to tackle more advanced repertoire. Our practices are mainly on Tuesday nights, 7pm-10pm, and sectionals are held weekly.

If you love string music but have never had the opportunity to learn, do join our Beginners' Group where you can have group lessons at preferred rates with excellent instructors. Our beginners' group showcases what they have learnt over the year at the annual A String Gaderian recital, and many move up to the Training Orchestra after that, where they experience playing in an ensemble. We offer lessons for violin, viola, and cello.
