Introduction

The club is one of the many performing groups under Cultural Activities Club (CAC). The club consists of 4 main groups, namely, Violin Beginners, Viola Beginners, Training Orchestra and String Orchestra.

The Beginners group is open to NTU undergraduates with no violin or viola background to pick up the skill. Some of them may have music background and this enables them to learn faster and progress to the Orchestra group.

The Training Orchestra consists mostly of members that progressed from the Beginners group.  They continue to receive guidance from the instructor to fine tune their playing techniques, so as to prepare them for the Orchestra.  The players from this group are also given exposure when they perform occasionally and experience ensemble playing.

The String Orchestra is the main performing group for the club. The group constantly performs for events in NTU and the public.

The club organizes lunchtime concerts for the NTU population and 2 public concerts annually – ‘Journey’ & 'A String Gaderian'.
